Remembering The Work of Master Carver Leonid Zakurdayev

Leonid Zakurdayev is a master woodcarver and furniture restorer from Russia, specializing in bas-relief carving. His wife Svetlana is also a skilled woodworker and they worked together on many pieces. These two are acclaimed in Russia for their work in restoring and reproducing ornately carved, uniquely styled, and commissioned architectural pieces like mantles and altars. They moved to the United States in 1999 and have placed in several wood carving exhibitions such as:
